Some pics of last weeks party...

Yeah, so they've said I'm getting a big boy now, so I thought I'd stand up on my feet for that...
(or for the ones who know the "is mijn kont"-song: "is mijn kont niet te dik in deze broek???")

Father and son... Both Soufyan and Ilyas take after their father... :D Good thing there is still grumpy, moody Yaesseen who takes after me (and who's inherited my morning temper ;p)

But, look at them... :D

Yeah, the dealing starts early in this family...
Ilyas to Yaesseen: "hey bro, that's a nice car they gave you, can I have it??" ;p

House for sale

The sign is taken down... hoorrah!! The oficial paperwork has yet to be done, but nonetheless: we've sold the house! The official selling date will be end of September, beginning of October, so by that time we should have moved into another place, hopefully something close to the afterschool care, so we don't have to take a bus there! :D

I'm kind of excited about it all, we'll be buying some new furnature for the new place as well, new table, since our table is getting too small to seat us all (it's for four people, and we are five already, so it's kind of inconvenient if we get dinnerguests) and a new sofa since our cats destroyed our old one...

Aioros wants you to join his army

My friend Ulrich has created an army, and he wants people to join him, however, it's not really my cup of tea and I think I would not be of any help if I joined his army, so I figured maybe one of you would like to help him. For information and to join his army, you can click here.

Tomorrow

tomorrow is the national day against pointless violence. ("Dag tegen zinloos geweld") This because it's been a year since the MP3 - murder in Brussels North Station. The year has flown, but I guess no one can really understand what's been happening in Belgium lately.

I'm not sure wether the news where you guys live broadcasted the awful events here in Belgium, Joe got killed in the station because of an MP3-player and a few months ago a guy got killed because he didn't want to give another guy a blaming cigarette...

Unbelievable what's happening to this world.

I have another similar story to tell... it happened over a year ago, when I was still pregnant with Ilyas. I went to visit a colleague / friend who was in maternity leave, I had to start work at 6 p.m., so I had to take the train on time. On our way to the station we got an accident, my friend hit another car which made a loop and landed upside down. Thanks to whoever helped at that time, no one got killed.

But the other car's passengers had a different colour. So you might figure where I'm heading at...

Anyway, at that time I was too worried about Ilyas' wellbeing to even pay attention to the fact that the colour of those other people was even mentioned. In the hospital, when I was still waiting for an examination to be done (because I had this cramp, but I didn't want to bother anyone with it), I was in the room with my friend, whose father entered the room saying: "you did not hit those 'zwartzakken'" (I ain't gonna bother translating the bloody word, but it's the first time I heard someone use the word for a couloured person, elderly people usually use the word for belgians who took the german's side in the war, but apparantly that word goes for coloured people as well...) Point well taken, after all, the baby in my womb was then and still is for all that matters, a so called 'zwartzak', but I decided to leave it like that, when sent to my check up, which couldn't find place in the hospital, but I had to go to the gynaecologists practice a bit further down the road, since she could not leave everything behind to come and see me, I was left alone in a place where I didn't even know where I was, I was sent to see some gynaecologist I didn't even know and I got instructions on how to get there, but it kind of all went blank once I was outside the hospital. The only thing I could think about was about how unfair it was, that those people had gotten hit and then insulted, like it was their choice to get into an accident...
But I left it like that, because I like my friend the way she is. But the event didn't stand alone, and now I don't really know how to react to her

The power of friendship

I've got the week off with our three boys and it is not always simple to keep them occupied whilst at home for a long period, and for them everything longer than a day is a long period. So yesterday afternoon we ordered "Piglet's great movie" with our digital TV. We've watched it four times since, and I must say that it is a brilliant movie. It includes some laughter, loads of tears, some scary moments and after all, a happy ending. :D

I like the Winnie The Pooh movies for kids since it's not agressive, unlike other cartoons these days and it usually has this underlying message, mostly about friendship and being different then others.
