Today...
It's been a while since I've updated you on what day it is or was, but that was mainly because we have missed 'chocolate covered raisins-day', 'pecan-day' etc., so that was too much of the good, even I wouldn't dare to post similar things! ;)
However, today is a day worth mentioning: today is the 'international fun at work-day', however, I don't really think everyone agrees, I for one have the day off, I heard Icky this afternoon on the phone, and he didn't sound like it was the most amusing work day he'd ever had, he just sounded like he always sounds. But, it's another one of those days. Good thing the sun is shining! :D
You can find a suitable e-card for today here. So, if you'd like to inform your boss... be my guest ;)

Gilmore Girls

I think a little post on my absolute all time favourite sitcom is at place. I am a big fan of Gilmore Girls, which is about a mother and a daughter. The mother, Lorelai, gave birth to her daughter Rory (her 'real' name is Lorelai too) when she was 16 years old and now the two of them are growing up together. It's got all you want in a sitcom, amusement, some music, some love issues, some family rows, etc. I love it.
The lead track is "Where you lead" by Carole King.
And El Shorty, I'm revising my opinion I gave earlier, after seeing last Sunday's episode, it's on number one of my list, then Friends on two, sorry ;) BTW, thanks again for lending me season 2.

Superhond 2007 - the sequel
some time ago I told you guys about this reality show called Superhond 2007. I only watched one episode, and nearly threw up, and decided to avoid the program as much as I could, so that my stomach and me could stay friends. And I had not really been reading any magazines that discussed the matter, so I really didn't know a thing about it all.
Until yesterday, I bought one of those gossip magazines, not for the gossip, but because it came with an "In de gloria" DVD, which is one of Woestijnvis-productions and too hilarious to be missed, and by buying the magazine, I really made a bargain, since it saved me over 10 Euros.
A n y w a y, in the magazine there was an article on Superhond 2007, it covered four complete pages, so I thought I'd give the article a go, since I really didn't have anything better to do. Whilst reading the article, I didn't know wether to feel sorry for those people because of them behaving as kids or because of them really believing themselves or because of them falling for a trick that low that only reality TV-producers can come up with it.
There was this one guy who'd had a depression and got a dog (a Bouvier) and got over it only because of the dog, since his dog was his best friend, he shared a room with another guy, whose wife left him after the show ended (I wonder why...), then there was a woman with a small dog who looked more like a pig, only pigs are cuter, and the three of them apparently got into a fight of some sort. They'd been sending each other text messages and all accused the one guy with the Bouvier of stalking, that guy accused the other two of stalking, the three of them went to the police with it all. The one with the Bouvier accused the others of vandalism to his cabriolet... pfff, now I understand why they didn't let any children with their dogs pass the preselections.

Dangerous Dave part III
just a quick update on how I did in the Dangerous Dave game, I managed to reach 1112.8 metres, I did it not long after I sent in the Dangerous Dave part II post, but forgot to update that since I was about to leave work.
I'd better start training too...
hey Lars, you are not the only one who needs to start practising, my goal won't take me as much time as yours, but I think swimming across the Ocean won't be that more demanding on me then what I should practise for ;)
So, as I told earlier, I am the proud owner of a brand new shiny mobile phone, and my phone does not only have a built-in MP3 player, it has got a radio on it as well. Which came in quite handy today since I had not had the time to install MP3's on my mobile. But it has been ages since I last listened to the radio, so that was quite a nice experience. Funny thing was that I was listening to it for about five minutes, when the guy on the radio said: "We have a new listener", now that was odd, but it turned out someone who didn't get the phrase 'shooting stars', how long has it been since that guy had listened to the radio, since I knew the phrase already :). Anyway, what was even odder, is that everytime I switched it on, there was this commercial on about how Q Music will give you shoes for the amount of 2000 euros. But then you have to compete with other women in a "running in high heels" contest, where you have to run 100 m in high heels. I cannot even walk in them, so if I'm even considering making an arse out of myself for 2000 Euros worth in shoes (which I could really use as a matter of fact, since my shoes are worn down), I'd better start practising as well... or if you'd like to swap Lars, I'll swim across the ocean and you can do the run...???

Three years ago
Today was Yaesseen's due date, I remember Sunday April 4th 2004 like it was yesterday. Since Soufyan was born on 03-03-03, we thought it would be funny that Yaesseen would actually be born on his due date 04-04-04.
That time there were a lot of docu soaps about giving birth and a lot of those women accidently wet their pants and thought their waters were broken and they got induced, so we were doubting to do the exact same thing. But something held me back, I think it was the fact that I didn't want to make a fool of myself or didn't want to take the risk of not getting induced and then having to go to maternity when it actually happened and being there with red cheeks ;-)
So Yaesseen's birthday got delayed as well, fortunately enough not as long as Soufyan's, but the induction was not really interesting. However, I had fun though, after the epidural kicked in ;p
But the little man is already turning three, if you ask him how old he'll be, he'll try to convince you his fifth birthday is coming up ;-)
This weekend we're having a double birthday party, since it's really tiring and chaotic for both us and the kids, we decided to throw just one for Yaesseen and Ilyas instead of having one this Saturday and one next Saturday.
Damn, time is going way too fast, within 12 days I'll having a four-year-old, a three-year-old and a one-year-old son. It feels like I've just grown up myself ;)

Excitement on a Tuesday
who'd have guessed that a Tuesday could be as exciting as this one is!? Today there was a hassle with a customer, which kept a few operators and a coach busy. Nothing really new if you work at a helpdesk.
However, in the afternoon, my coach got a phonecall from security that there was a woman who claimed to have an appointment with him. It turned out to be the customer who got into a fit and drove to our offices, forced her entry by following another car coming in. She refuses to leave the office before she gets her problem solved today. She's got an appointment for tomorrow.
LOL, it caused some excitement here! :D
New mobile
So, my old phone was on the edge of dying, and the only thing I could do to get him talking was switching him off and turning him back on again. I made a rock of my heart and bought a new one, and got a discount by turning my old one in. I erased all my numbers, pictures, messages, everything, this was kind of hard, because my mobile was such a big part of my life.
But the excitement of a new one is kind of kicking in. I have bought myself a Sony Ericsson w300i. Which looks like this:

But it took me quite a while to find out how to switch it on, I now have to put all my contacts in it, and need to discover how to send text messages etc. So in case I should accidently send you a really weird text, nevermind, I'm still getting to know my new companion...
NEVER!
Today one of our colleagues came to the office with her one month old baby boy. He's absolutely adorable, like most babies. So we all went to see him and coo and ooh over him. Of course that brought the never ending funny joke amongst everyone. I have to respond to the "so, when's the fourth one coming" on a weekly basis, but had the question 9 times in only 3 minutes, so for once and for all: there is no fourth coming, having three children in just over three years is enough, thank you! And I would appreciate it if the question was directed in other people's direction... thank you!

Dangerous Dave part II
Ok, I'm not too good at the game, my topscore is 328.0m, but I just made 125.0m, and that was absolutely hilarious, try to find out why ;)
Dangerous Dave
I got a link from a colleague who's about to leave our company to work for Ingram Micro (and become a colleague of Rik hahaha)
Maybe you guys would like to give it a try to, it's a game called Dangerous Dave, so there cannot be anything wrong with it, can it!? So lets try to get a high score! I'll try and once I get a score of any kind I'll inform you too!
The JC Rock Band
Saturday night we went to a pub where our across the door neighbour Erik was performing with his band. It was absolutely brilliant. I had been looking forward to going out for about two entire weeks, since we hardly ever go out, last time we went out was somewhere in the half of January.
Even nicer was that Erik was thrilled that we made the effort to come and see him sing, it's brilliant that you can make someone happy just by going to a pub! :D
