It's amazing how many foreign words have made their way into the language we consider ours (Flemmish), even though it's not an official one, but a bastard version of Dutch.
Up until now I've mostly noticed French and English words, but for a really odd reason people have started to use more and more German words. It's amazing how many times I hear the word 'Spielerei' during a week. What does that mean anyway? Ok, I know what Spielerei means, but why don't we just use the words we have?? What's gonna happen to the language our ancestors fought hard for???

Hmmm, having thought about it since you called, I'm sure I never used the word "Spielerei" in my entire life. It's probably one of those Belgo-German bastard words. Are you sure they didn't mean "Spiegelei", i.e. fried egg? ;-)
I'm still not really sure about that... it would both made as much sense to me...
I think I'll start saying similar things, when people are joking and fooling around, I'll just say scrambled egg, that makes as much sense, doesn't it??
LOL, so you actually recall the conversation then? I thought you were already in ghappy dreamland ;-)
@ the big K: People just want to have things they don't have, and what they DO have they don't care about. Thats why i guess they try to be Fancy, with there foreigh words. Get it? ;)
