Yesterday I downloaded a new song to my mobile "kvraagetaan" by Fixkes. It's a song in Flemmish about how easy life used to be. It's a song filled with nostalgia. ' 'k vraag et aan' is what we used to say when we were young and wanted a boy to be our boyfriend (or girlfriend), or we even sent out one of our friends to go ask the boy instead of going yourself.

Ironically, I ran into the boy who was my boyfriend when I was fourteen years old, about ten minutes after I downloaded the song. I didn't know what to say though, so I said hi and that was about it.... :D

How to talk to a widower

I've just finished a brilliant book, by Jonathan Tropper, which left me longing for more. Normally I take a new book and start reading it after I finished one. Not this time though, well, I tried, three times, but I cannot continue reading, because it just doesn't meet up to "How to talk to a widower".

I won't bother giving you a bookreview, but if you want one... go to the library or the bookstore and get yourself a copy, there is no better bookreview then actually reading it yourself. But I can tell you I wanted to call in sick to read the book in one go.

The multimedia thing is going out of their borders, on Wednesday night I had to click on a button to become friends with Tom, whom I have known since kindergarten. He accepted the friendship right away, but now I have this schedule; Tom and I are friends since June 27th 2007, now our children won't believe it if I tell them we met when we were about 3 years old. same thing happened with Lies en Jon....tsssssssss

Heroes and other tests

I was addicted to the first season of Heroes, as I stated on an earlier date on this blog. Now BrainFall has got a test to check which character you are.

e-cards

Don't you just love e-cards?? they are a cheap way of telling people you care! I quite enjoy cards overall, maybe I prefer the handwritten ones since I like to see people's handwriting, since these days you hardly get to read something handwritten.

But e-cards are amusing, mostly the ones on this website.

However, I have not yet had the guts to send someone a card from this site... ;) But will do, once I find the appropiate card for the right person, I'll care enough to hit send...

I am addicted to the song "Grace Kelly" by Mika, really, it's one of the absolute best songs I've heard in the past few years. Mostly because it is something new, because lately I have the feeling I have heard most of it.

Flickr

I really enjoy Lars' photoset on Flickr, and have been doubting to create my own for a while, but today I decided it was a good day to make my own...

So I signed up, but needed a yahoo login, however, I have not used my yahoo login for years, I think the last time I used it was when I was still at IBM and it was before the roof went off. So I needed to create a new one, which means another e-mail account to add to my collection, because I am starting to collect quite a few... my work e-mail, my e-mail at home, hotmail, magictaxi mail, so I chose for an Australian account, since I do not yet own an Australian e-mail account! :D
This account brought me to the Australian Yahoo site (where else!?) where I noticed something on All Saints, now I have to admit that I am quite an All Saints addict, and I could take a sneak preview on next episode of this season (in Australia, so I considered it good news that there was still a season going on over there), but it was not what I expected to see :'( some of the actors whom are in the series I am watching now aren't in the new season anymore... bummer... but still, I might have grown out of my All Saints addiction by the time the current season in Australia will be on in Belgium...
Good thing about it all is that I discovered we are on the same level in Prison Break and next week we get to see the final episode of Heroes here in Belgium and in Australia they are only watching the 17th episode...
(so, we Belgians aren't doing as bad when it comes down to television series as I thought, that's a relief)

After that I started to look for pictures to upload on my photoset, because what's the use of being a proud owner of an online photoset if it does not contain any pictures!? So I found a CD full of pics of the period around Ilyas' birth, what has he grown the past year!? meanwhile he was throwing stuff at me, laughing at me when I shouted "AAAAAAAAAAA" after he tried if I was still human enough to feel pain when he bites me (and yes, it still hurts, so none of you needs to try that one out ;) ), Yaesseen has lost his babyface in the past year and Soufyan has become more of a boy than the toddler he then was... aaaah, love nostalgia! :D

However, most of the pictures I have are of our children... so I urgently need to get out and photograph the world :D Which reminds me of the pictures I still have to take to the photographer to develop, I'll do that when Ilyas wakes up, so maybe I can upload some pictures taken on our trip to London (which was before Christmas, shame on me for not having them developped yet) over the weekend...

Today...

It's been a while since I've updated you on what day it is or was, but that was mainly because we have missed 'chocolate covered raisins-day', 'pecan-day' etc., so that was too much of the good, even I wouldn't dare to post similar things! ;)

However, today is a day worth mentioning: today is the 'international fun at work-day', however, I don't really think everyone agrees, I for one have the day off, I heard Icky this afternoon on the phone, and he didn't sound like it was the most amusing work day he'd ever had, he just sounded like he always sounds. But, it's another one of those days. Good thing the sun is shining! :D

Dangerous Dave

I got a link from a colleague who's about to leave our company to work for Ingram Micro (and become a colleague of Rik hahaha)

Maybe you guys would like to give it a try to, it's a game called Dangerous Dave, so there cannot be anything wrong with it, can it!? So lets try to get a high score! I'll try and once I get a score of any kind I'll inform you too!

Heroes

Since three weeks, VT4 started broadcasting this new TV-series called Heroes. It's about different people who all have some sort of power. At first I thought 'my god, another one of those series' but it's really brilliant. It's got my completely stuck to the screen whilst watching. Fun thing is that it doesn't really give you all the details, it's kind of like Lost, where you keep on watching because you want to know what's really going on and you have all kinds of images in your head of what is happening. Nice about VT4 is that they broadcast two episodes after each other, like they did with Lost, so that you have over an hour of good television.

I was surfing the net on more info about the series and discovered that NBC has a site about it, where they have downloadable stuff. This stuff doesn't only contain wallpapers, but has really nice comics about it as well, so I figured Dave might like it. :)
You can find the comics here. To my humble opinion they are really good, but what do I know about it? Maybe you can see for yourselves and correct me if I'm wrong...

I was discussing it with my colleague El Shorty, and his favourite character is Hiro, a Japanese guy who can manipulate time, this made me think about who my favourite character is, and I'm still not sure, I like Mohinder, who has no ready known powers, and might not have any powers, I'm not sure. And I guess my favourite would be Matt, who hears thoughts, maybe because I would like to be able to do that from time to time and because I'm trying to do so by watching people's faces and actions and stuff.

nintendo DS

In reaction to Dave's post about PS3 I'll give him the opinion about my Nintendo DS he asked for! :-)

I absolutely adore my Nintendo DS, I'm kind of addicted. We bought the nintendo because it's small and you can put it away, since we don't want our kids to start playing computer games too soon. I have most of the brain challenge games, which are brilliant, I would like some more games, but that's according to the finances... I have the Pac Man game, which is really really really fun, I got the Crash Boom Bang game, but it has taken me a lot of time to figure it out, there is this thing where you have to blow up balloons, and at first I didn't succeed at the thing, and then I realised you actually had to blow up the balloon, and not push any buttons to do so.

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training is loads of fun, especially the part where you have to shout out the colour you see... I love shouting at things that don't reply to me; the TV, my magazine, the PC, the Nintendo. Good thing about shouting at the Nintendo is that you get scores doing so! LOL

So, I'm a big fan! I cannot wait for our boys to grow about 8 years older and then play games with them, probably that day will come sooner then within 8 years, but still I'd like them to continue using their imagination a bit longer and seeing the fun of cardboard boxes.

Unfortunately I'm not that good at reviewing games, I'm sorry about that... but maybe I can lend someone my DS and then he can give a way better review ;)

BTW Dave, I was at Game Mania last Friday and there was absolutely no hassle selling the PS3's either, there was no crowd at all, people just went to the till and asked for their reserved PS3, payed for it and went home :) (so, we are all a lot more civilised then those Londoners and Americans ;p just kidding)
